This piece expresses the awareness of how technology and nature are interconnected and how we as humans can help influence their relationship. This interactive sculpture has a solid wooden base, laden with sod and it supports the cast resin plant stalk in which the electronics are housed. Thick copper wires extrude out of the resin stalk and are stripped at the ends in order to allow full interactive contact with the copper leaves. When the copper leaves are touched, a circuit is completed through the copper wire and within the arduino system, and the LEDs housed in the stalk change in response. The LEDs cycle through various combinations of white, green, and blue colors.
