Telepistomologic Themie: Extensions of self looking at other
My plan for this project is to make a container that allows the observer to use their camera, phone, or video camera to capture nocturnal scavenging wildlife, in particular, possums and raccoons. To add a little humor and appeal to the project, I plan to make it in the shape of a dumpster. All of the doors, the top two and singular sliding door on the side, will be movable. The device will be able to be inserted from the rear into a protective case that will have a window for full capture of the specimen and its interactions with the piece. The user will place some food on top of the case that is protecting the recording device and once an animal is attracted to the scent, it will do whatever it can to reach it. The lids and door will serve as somewhat of a puzzle for the animal to interact with as they try to reach the delicious prize within.
